What are you interested in?

OK, so I've been absolutely flat out with University so I have been unable to prepare an interesting post on mythological creatures for you...  However, I'm going to list a few here, and if you comment and tell me which you're most interested in, I'll do my next blog on one. and perhaps add one to a book! :)

Undines - Beatiful water elementals.

Salamanders - wrathful fire elementals.

Anyhoo, I've already spent far to long googling these super cool images. Let me know what you'd love to see in a book or hear me blog about... or... if there's one that you're itching to hear about... tell me, chances are I'll love it too.

Have a great week.

  1. Wow, these are all great. The Vanara, please. Only coz I'm short too :) - Hey I had to choose out of all these great creatures that I haven't heard before, with the exception of the salamanders.

    1. The Varana is pretty cool isn't it... definitely worth some research me thinks! Watch this space! :)

  2. I love kitsunes. Though I think the Perytion sounds pretty darn cool too.

  3. I know! I think you could do some pretty cool stuff with a Perytion. I've been toying for ages with the kitsune. Originally Marilyn in MC was going to be one - but I wanted something more empathic for her hence she is a Baku! :)

  4. I have a seven book series I'm working on and the first book follows a supernatural bounty hunter who just happens to be a kitsune. The series also deals with merpeople, immortals (not vampires), witches, psychics, leprechauns, and gargoyles.

I think it would be interesting to see what kind of a story you could come up with for a kitsune. But of course, first you need to finish Redemption, and then there is that story with Phil as well (I'm looking forward to both of those, by the way).

  5. Thanks Alice - I'm getting there! ONly about six thousand more words to go in Redemption and Phil's story is going well. I've been on prac all week, so poor old Lucian has been stagnating in a horrible situation for about week and I haven't had the time to save him... tonight is the night though! :D I have about four (or is it five?!) other stories waiting to be written, so any book about a kitsune for me is a looooong way off!

However, Alice, your series sounds seriously WONDERFUL, just my kind of thing! It would be great to read about a Kitsune heroine... so go get it published girl! :)

  6. Oh no, poor Lucian. And ooooh...any news you can tell the fans about these other stories that are waiting to be written?

Yeah, I'm working on re-writing it now. After I finish the re-write for the first book in my ghost trilogy, then I'll probably get back to my kitsune story. There's just not enough time ever to really do all the writing I'd like to. In a perfect world I would win a huge jackpot on the lottery, pay off all my student loans, and then take a year off from work to focus solely on writing. But I don't really see that happening, so the writing always seems to get pushed back. But, I will definitely get back to the kitsune story...soonish.

  7. That's a great idea for a blog post... I'll write up some draft blurbs for them and maybe get them posted next week :)

I know, what you mean, writing always gets pushed to the back of the line! I do it too! Good luck with your re-write, definitely let me know how things go!

  8. That sounds awesome. And thanks; I'm hoping to be able to focus a little more on writing. I've started setting my alarm clock so I can get up in the mornings and write for a few hours before I have to go to work.

  9. Good idea! If I didn't already get up at 5:30 am, I'd do the same! :P

  10. Yeah, I go to my job at 2pm and work until 10pm, so for a while I would sleep in until 10:30am or so. Now I am up by 9am every morning. Once my body actually gets used to that I may try to start at 8.
