The Magician's Keeper

A brand new steamy paranormal romance about learning to love all of yourself.

In a world where people judge one another by exacting standards of size and style, being a big girl like Eudora Splat was never going to be easy.

Though trouble is brewing between magic folk and human purists who would see them all destroyed, Dora, a half-giant, tries to eke out a quiet, unnoticed life for herself, but it's hard to be subtle when you're over seven feet tall.

Losing her job as a gardener due to human complaints, Dora is recruited as a prison guard, where she's enlisted to protect the magician Evander "Bear" Gordon from human purist attack. Bear encourages her to embrace her power and celebrate her heritage, introducing her to a world where she can be extraordinary and not just weird.

But after years of hiding and shying away, can Dora find the strength to grab onto a new life — and hold on to the man she's falling in love with?

A Warlord's Lady

Finalist in the Australian Romance Readers Awards for Best Paranormal, 2013.

Magic, murder and mayhem collide when an ordinary woman meets a powerful warlord — and writes a bestselling, tell-all book...

Eighteen fateful months ago, Sabra was kidnapped by the infamous magician warlord Cain Dath, and her body just won't let her forget. Hidden in the humid depths of the Laos jungle, she shared everything with him, but he never shared his heart.

In his position of power, Cain cannot show weakness. He must lead his people to freedom and no one — not even the woman he's fast becoming obsessed with — can stand in his way.

Then Sabra sells her story of love slavery in a tell-all exposé and brings fame, fortune, and every one of his enemies down upon them both. Now, she is open to attack on all fronts, and he can no longer stay away. The man who enslaved her may well be the only man who can save her.

"This book is one of those books no fantasy or romance reader wants to miss"

I have to admit that I fell in love with Dath's character, even though I am not the type to fall or the bad guys. While the media characterizes him as a evil dictator who lives in the Laos jungle, we learn from Sabras tell-all book that he was the tall dark, sexy and mysterious with a sensitive side. What's not to love about a guy like that!!

"A heroine with a body that resembles my own!  Something that is, unfortunately, a rarity in novels."
"Ever wonder why some authors are so good at telling a tale?  How within each page you can get the feeling of actually being there, as though the words on the page and the world created within them are actually real?  What if it was, what if the author really was speaking from experience?  That ladies and gentleman is exactly the tale being spun in A Warlord's Lady, in a fun, exciting and brightly dark way." Magical Gains
(Magic Series #1)

Imran is sexy. He is available, but taking anything from him is illegal and could land you in prison, or at the very least, with an extraordinarily large tax bill.

Imran is a Genie and Primrose is a government employee, and in a world where Magic is heavily governed to ensure equality for all - their relationship appears doomed from the start.
In a world with rules to govern how, when and why magic is used, Primrose naturally, is unwilling to accept Imran's wishes. As a Genie cannot leave his master until all wishes have been granted, Imran and Primrose are effectively stuck with one another. As Imran searches for a way to break the Genie-Mistress bond without taking wishes, both find in each other what they never expected. Imran finds in Primrose a woman who does not want his magic, and one he is willing to wait for, and Primrose finds a man strong, attractive and willing to accept her for who she is. However with a jealous fiance, lascivious Satyrs, treacherous Sirens, evil Magicians and hygienically challenged Manticores - Primrose and Imran must pass some gruelling trials to discover if their relationship can grow beyond its mould and out last three wishes.

"a compelling, fresh and original fantasy story that combines magic, fairy tales, romance and humour. Set in both Perth and Kuching in an alternate dimension, the story overflows with creativity and originality. Nicola Sheridan manages to articulate both tension and humour masterfully, and creates lively, authentic characters with complex emotions and relationships. 'Magical Gains' is visually stimulating and evocative, with almost tangible smells and tastes and a smooth blend of fantasy and reality. Here is an enthralling, engaging story that is a completely different take on fantasy." (http://www.ipoz.biz/News/eNews41.htm).

If you're looking for something inventive and new in the PNR genre then give Magical Gains a go. It's a fresh, funny, fantastic read with a healthy dose of sexy thrown in. I can't wait for the second book in the series, Magical Creations. (http://strangecandyreviews.blogspot.com/2011/05/review-magical-gains-by-nicola-e.html)

In a world where magic items are taxed, Primrose becomes the unwilling owner of a genie lamp and it’s sexy occupant. Primrose is not happy about it and to boot she has some problems due to a domineering ex. So what’s a girl to do with a handsome genie? Take advantage or send him back to where he came from? Sheridan provides a great paranormal romance with all the magical trimmings. This is a sure delight to all those who love to read about magical beings and romance of course. Sheridan also did her homework in magical beings as she brings back some beings that we only sometimes hear about in fairytales or myths. Be sure to pick up Magical Gains and plunge yourself in the magic and passion. (http://thepenmuse.net/archives/2953)

"I loved this fast paced read for all its twists and turns..."

When you first meet the fashion conscious Antigone Watson you're a little worried she won't be able to go the distance. But she soon proves herself as the feisty, go getter, who is a lot more than she seems. Her perfect foil, Omar, tries desperately to curb his feelings for her because he needs her help on a professional level. However, when they both get taken by the Magical Mafia it's their connection to each that will ultimately save them. I loved this fast paced read for all it's twists and turns and memorable characters who you are really sad to leave when the story ends. If you like fantasy and romance, you'll love Nicola's fresh voice and addictive world. Go out and grab a copy of Magical Creations now! You won't be disappointed.  ...extremely well-crafted, rich in fantasy and mythology (though if you think you know all there is to know in those categories, you'll be pleasantly surprised,) but also grounded in genuine, relatable human emotions and experiences. Characters are engaging and complex, and the environments are so well written that I always have a very difficult time snapping back to reality after reading these books. Annamarie (Goodreads)

Mimosa Black - novella

In a world where magical creatures are as rare as a spotty teen at a supermarket checkout, being one quarter Harpy shouldn’t be a problem.
Unfortunately for Mimosa Black, this is not the case. Combining her failed marriage, inability to fly, and unrequited crush on her childhood friend, Bo Elliot – Mimosa’s existence is less than idyllic.
Things however, are rarely as they seem. Bo has a secret and when Mimosa falters, his secret is revealed. Yet in their darkest moments, where bad magic lurks, love is never far away. Mimosa and Bo do have a chance at happiness, if they're selfless enough to find it...

I just wish there was more of it to read...

Another awesome story by Nicola E. Sheridan. This is actually a short novella (only 65 pages). I read it in a single afternoon....I thoroughly loved the story. I just wish there was more of it to read.

So incredibly refreshing...

I discovered Nicola Sheridan while reading a guest post on a friend's blog, and I'm really glad that I have. I have read both of her novels (Magical Gains, and Magical Creations) as well as her novella (Mimosa Black), and I have found them all to be absolutely amazing. Lately the market has been so incredibly saturated by vampires and werewolves (and more recently faeries) that having books that center around genies and harpies, etc. is so incredibly refreshing.
